RF-Microneeding at a Glance

The RF-Microneeding is a combo microneedling and radiofrequency device that delivers fractional radiofrequency energy beyond the layers of the skin and into the subdermal tissue via interchangeable tips with various pin configurations and a maximum penetration depth of 4mm and an additional 1mm of tissue heating ability.3 The polymer coated needles may be adjusted to reach various depths, delivering a thermal injury that instigates the natural wound response. As the skin heals, production of essential skin structure proteins such as collagen and elastin is increased as well as moisture-retaining polysaccharides such as hyaluronic acid. The result is a tightened appearance to the skin and an increase of youthful “plumpness”.

The RF-Microneeding system includes dual handpieces and 4 RF-Microneeding tips with different configurations for increased versatility and customization in a RF-Microneeding skin treatment. Unlike some other RF microneedling devices, the RF-Microneeding Body handpiece allows for treatment of the body, with popular areas being the abdomen, buttocks and thighs.

What to Know About RF-Microneeding

One of the key advantages to the RF-Microneeding skin treatment is the deep, controlled delivery of radiofrequency energy, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in all tones of skin. Because of the depth reached and the ability to customize the output of RF energy, RF-Microneeding can be safely used on darker skin tones.45 Patients particularly prone to hyperpigmentation may be prescribed a hydroquinone cream or other pigment inhibitor before and after a RF-Microneeding skin treatment.
